A final farewell…

… To the vibrant, inspiring, youth led, Young Achievers Trust!

For the last two years I have been volunteering for the Young Achievers Trust, first as secretary, then Vice Chair and most recently Chair, overseeing all aspects of the charity.  What makes the Young Achievers so special is that we are completely youth volunteer led, meaning everyone is 25 or under and volunteers for the charity alongside their jobs, university or school. None of us are paid, we have no office, no utility bills, just lots of volunteering goodness.

My time at the Young Achievers Trust, has taught me many of the ins and outs of how a charity runs, the rules and regulations of the charity commission, some of the complexities of financial reporting, how to manage a group of volunteers, but most importantly it has continued to prove the incredible achievements that are possible by a group of young people.

Not just the winners of the Young Achievers Awards but each of the trustees, advisors and volunteers who contribute their time together to celebrate the achievements of brilliant young people and support and advise these young people through our awards package.

Sadly my time with the Young Achievers Trust is coming to an end. It is time to pass on this volunteering role and begin preparations for my volunteering adventure around the world.

So for my final farewell I have decided to help raise a few pennies (in this ever difficult funding environment) to help the Young Achievers Trust to continue to support and celebrate inspirational young volunteers across the country.

If you would like to sponsor the Young Achievers Trust please do so on my funding page

Thanks all and together we can support the Young Achievers Trust to continue to grow and flourish.
